DGT #13: Rhaegal (Game of Thrones)

Apparently there is a live Game of Thrones themed scavenger hunt tonight in North Beach. Team Drankgon will definitely be in attendance, dressed up, per usual.  Here is the link if anyone wants to come check it out: http://www.sfweekly.com/exhibitionist/2016/04/12/game-of-thrones-scavenger-hunt-finds-its-way-to-north-beach

Onto GOT dragon #2: Rhaegal. Awwwwww, just look at him. He's such a cute little schmoopie! I just want to pet him and feed him flamingos. Rhaegal is another one of Khaleesi's dragon. He was named for her other brother, Rhaegar Targaryen. He is distinguishable by his green and bronze colored scales, and his yellow-orange colored wings. And of course, his cute face.

He was born along with his two siblings after Daenerys has their eggs placed on the funeral pyre erected for her deceased husband, Khal Drogo. As she rises unharmed from the ashes of the pyre on the morning following the funeral, Rhaegal is cradled by her at the time. Score! He actually gets his own moment in the sun before Drogon starts taking all the screen time.

Apparently he also got his own little "moment" in the last season. In season 5, there is a scene where Daenerys, reeling over the death of Ser Barristan Selmy, arrests the leaders of Meereen's great families and brings them to meet Rhaegal and Viserion. Rhaegal roasts one of nobles and tucks in, sharing the meal with Viserion. Boom, roasted! Don't mess with dragons or you get the fire. Remember that, Flabongo.

I also found this nice little quote about Rhaegal in the books: "Ser Barristan Selmy notes that thus far Rhaegal has shown himself to be more dangerous than his brother Viserion."

Now that's what I'm talking about, baby! Let's see some more of the ferocity in the upcoming season.
