It's too bad that we learned about this convention so late in the game, because apparently it's starting TODAY. Yes, there is something called DRAGON CON. And we want in. You can expect to see a Drankgon booth there next year. 100%.
Dragon Con is a North America multigenre convention, founded in 1987, which takes place once each year in Atlanta, Georgia. As of 2014, the convention draws attendance of 63,000, features hundreds of guests, encompasses five hotels in the Peachtree Center neighborhood of downtown Atlanta near Centennial Olympic Park, and runs thousands of hours of programming for fans of science fiction, fantasy, comic books, and other elements of fan culture. In 2015, Dragon Con attracted some 65,000+ people and brought in over $21 million. Balling.
This is now on my bucket list of events to attend. Even since learning about Dragon Con, I have had this recurring fantasy of showing up in a giant premade dragon costume that requires me to wear stilts to tower over everyone else there. Kinda like this guy did at New York Comic Con in his giant Iron Man suit. My wings would be so big that if I turned around, I would knock over like five people. It's good to have goals in life. Write that down.
Back to Dragon Con. Let's take a look at some pictures from years past:
Wow, this looks awesome. I'm really starting to think this Giant Dragon idea has wings. After looking at photos from years past and literally googling "awesome Dragon Con dragon photos," I realized that something is seriously missing from this dragon-themed convention... DRAGONS. Specifically, a giant dragon that crushes all over pathetic dragons there. I mean, can you picture a giant dragon in that room full of people. Complete Domination. Can't wait for Dragon Con 2017.
